Charlie was born on January 30, 1910 in Toad Lake Twp, Becker County, MN. He died on July 15, 1983 in Menahga, MN. He married Irene Anderson Maisio on May 18, 1940 in Snellman, MN. Charlie lived with his parents until he married Irene, a widow with two sons, Alfred and Elmer. They began farming the land that she owned that was neighboring to his parents farm. They worked this dairy farm until August 1974 when their son Hugo purchased the place. At that time Charlie and Irene moved to a home near Menahga, MN. After his death, Irene sold that home and moved to Park Rapids, MN.

Verniel Yliniemi Latto writes about Uncle Charlie:

Charlie like Uncle Bill had the brown eyes, and a twinkle in them. Charlie was easy going. He would get after his children, yet there was that twinkle in his eyes, saying he was amused at their antics also. I remember going to visit at Charlies. The one thing I always admired was the two room play house sitting in the yard. It was just the right size for his little girls. I assumed that Charlie had made it for them.
