Richard Nestor Yliniemi was born August 5, 1941 on the Yliniemi homestead in Toad Lake Township. When he was 18 years old, Levi and Ida bought a farm in Spruce Grove Township where they lived until Levi's death in 1977. Richard farmed and during the summer, drove gravel truck. He met DarLayne Rinerson in Ada, MN. They were married there May 8, 1965.

In October 1965, they moved to their farm in Runeberg Township (formely owned by his uncle Joe). Richard farmed and drove milk truck, until 1972 when he started driving school bus for Menaha Public Schools. He has driven bus ever since. All of their six children were born in Park Rapids, MN. Richard enjoys driving school bus. They sold the farm to Levi and moved to Menahga in 2008. Their address is 114 6th St SE. They share a town house with George and Mary Ann Salmonson. DarLayne is a retired LPN but continues to work call at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga.

Marty and Laura lived near Richard and DarLayne on a farm once owned by Oscar Yliniemi. They were part owners of Pederson Oil Company of Menahga. Laura worked in the activities department at Green Pine Acres Nursing Home and also as a bookkeeper for Pederson Oil Company. Laura and Marty moved in August 2009 to 220 6th ST SE, Medford, MN 55049 where Marty is the Manager of Renneberg Hardwoods of Fairbault.
